Meridian Behavioral Health Marriage Therapist Attends Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) Training in Nashville, TN

McHenry, IL (PRWEB) December 21, 2011

Meridian Behavioral Health is home to Gwen Ames, LCSW, who specializes in marital therapy to struggling couples. As part of our mission, staff therapists are consistently seeking new training opportunities to take advantage of a wide range of treatment approaches that have been proven effective. Mrs. Ames recently travelled to Nashville for an intensive training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (called “EFT”). This approach was developed by Drs. Sue Johnson and Les Greenberg, and is one of the most widely accepted couples therapy approaches. There is a tremendous amount of research literature supporting the effectiveness of this approach, and we are very excited to have this kind of service offered at our facility. Mrs. Ames completed this 4-day immersion program in EFT in early December.

We’re proud of Mrs. Ames for pursuing this excellent training opportunity and holding up our commitment to evidence-based treatment approaches. Gwen’s commitment to couple’s therapy and to developing herself continually as a marriage counselor are great examples of what we value as a group of therapists.
