Marriage Advice Website Makes its Debut

Marriage Advice Website Makes its Debut

Spokane, WA (PRWEB) June 12, 2009

With the divorce rate reaching record highs, the concept of “forever” is more like a pipe dream than a feasible reality. Despite the harrowing statistics, Clay Roy is an optimist.

“I believe that marriages can be saved AND can be made better,” he said.

Roy is an entrepreneur and is currently the proprietor of http://www.BetterMarriages4You.com, an online marriage help resource. Having launched in March 2009, Better Marriages 4 You has information and guides to assist in making matrimony last.

Roy admits that because of by going to a marriage counselor with his wife, they have been able to maintain a successful and happy marriage. In the years that followed, the couple went on to give back by teaching marriage classes.

“This is about offering solutions to bring down the statistics,” he said. “We want to help, in some way, solve the issues.”

Through the site couples have access to books regarding marriage, intimacy, children and finance – all factors that can affect a relationship – and Roy himself, who’s expanding his traditional route of counseling to the internet audience.

“If couples need specific help, we’re offering free one-on-one advice. There’s also going to be free lessons on our blog,” Roy said.

The blog, http://www.MakeMarriageMatter.com, contains the Roys’ personal experience in the matters of marriage. In fact, both the blog and the website have inspired them to develop a workbook with practical applications to help a floundering couple.

“It will be an inexpensive downloadable e-book,” Roy explained.

Through hard work, Roy is adamant that marriages can be saved and can be made to be stronger through mutual affection.

“Unless there’s abuse or an ongoing affair in which the partner is not willing to give up, I will never offer divorce as a solution,” he said. “We don’t want to offer an easy way out. Our focus is to save marriages and many of these applications can be used all relationships.”

Marriage Problems – Communication for Couples – Marriage Counseling Made Easy

www.StrongMarriageNow.com – Having Marriage Problems? Marriage Counselor, Dr. Dana Fillmore, teaches couples two key skills that will improve your communication. Marriage Counseling Made Easy!
Video Rating: 5 / 5

We’re studying biological influences in social behaviour right now. We behave in different ways based on the stimulus in an environment, but regardless of that stimulus it has to go through the brain. That information is input into the brain, processed and encoded where you take that observation or what’s been perceived by the senses and you attached some meaning to it… either background knowledge related to the stimulus or a prior experience. You can find a value in that stimulus or have a memory that is similar. Based on whatever you’ve got for experience at that point, then, your resuting behaviour will be different from others, though somewhat expected in some situations. In watching this video last night on tv, though, I sat perched on the side of my couch watching and as wrapped up in the show as I was I was more shocked at how much of a physical reaction I had in watching it. I was sick to my stomach watching and realized I had huge, crocodile tears forming in my eyes. Now I knew this was all a set up, that it’s a simulated situation, and the input is very limited in this case… there’s no sense of touch or a physical closeness to the situation that would cause me to feel threatened or anxious but I felt it just the same. And why? Because when I encoded that information I was able to related it to other personal experiences where I’ve felt as threatened or conflicted in a moment. Now to share this with my students this morning, I anticipated that they may get

Discover Four Good Steps To Save Your Marriage

If your marriage is stuck in a rut or you are at the brink of divorce then you must be wondering if there are any steps to save marriage. It is sad that divorce seems to have become the norm among couples today, but if you are determined to save your marriage, then you need all the help you can get to beat the odds.

Check out www.savingmarriagesnow.blogspot.com for some surprisingly simple techniques that will help put the zing back into your marriage.

Here are four simple steps to save your marriage. I mean simple though not easy steps that will set you on the right path towards winning your spouse again and saving your marriage from destruction.

1) Quit blaming your spouse. Criticizing your spouse or your self will only do more harm than good and will not help you save your marriage. This is the first step to save your marriage because marriages get frozen into a pattern of blame that immobilizes any prospect of progress. Instead, it kills any ambition or motivation your partner may have left to preserve your marriage.

Accusations are our way of avoiding to face ourselves. It is much easier to shift the blame on someone else than it is to accept our fault. But in marriage, you can just as easily turn that accusing finger on yourself and place the blame there, saying “it’s all my fault.” This is a great  beginning step to save your marriage.

Unfortunately, blame feels good in the short-term, but in the long-term, it prevents any transformation. So, even if you can make a long list of why you or your spouse should be blamed, forget it. Even if that list is authentic, it will not help you put your marriage back together. Blame is the fuel of divorces and not a good step to save your marriage.

2) Admit your faults and take responsibility for your part in break-down of the marriage. Look for a way to bring about a positive change. Decide you can do something. Change always begins with one person who wants to see a change and make a difference. Understand that taking responsibility is not the same as taking the blame (see above) and is a positive step to save your marriage.

Instead, being responsible is saying “regardless of who is at fault, there are some things I can do differently, and I am going to do them.” What buttons do you allow your spouse to push? What buttons do you push with your spouse? Deciding not to allow those buttons to be pushed and stop pushing the buttons is a commendable step to save your marriage.

What amazes me is that most people know what they should be doing or not doing to save their marriage. But it is difficult to move in that direction. Don’t be caught in that. Decide that you will take valuable steps to save your marriage.

3) Enlist the help of a professional marriage counselor. If others have been helped, you can be, too. Experts with a great deal more perspective and experience can be a real help in these situations. Do your research and divide the useless from the useful, then take advantage of the useful.

Don’t assume that your situation is so different from every other situation. The story may change for every couple, but the dynamics are the same.

4) Take action. If you do nothing or take a misstep, you will only do more harm to your marriage. It is too easy to get stupefied by the situation. Therapists often talk about “analysis paralysis.” This occurs when people get so caught up in their churning thoughts and attempts to “figure things out” that they never take crucial steps to save their marriage.

Simply understanding the cause of the problem is not enough what is causing the problem. You must then take the necessary steps to save your marriage on a daily basis. Don’t be deceived to think that your problem will resolve itself if you can just understand it. That simply does not happen. You must take pivotal steps to save your marriage if you want the problem solved.

Can your marriage be saved? Following these suggestions will give you infinitely more opportunity to save your marriage than if you do nothing. It takes two to build a marriage but only one to person can wreck it. You can only do your part, but many times, that is enough. Resolve not to ask the question but to begin to act and take vital steps to save your marriage.

Don’t wait until it’s too late for you to save your marriage. Find out from www.savingmarriagesnow.blogspot.com how you can dazzle your spouse and make them fall madly in love with you again.

Fighting for Marriage Fidelity at Save Your Marriage Central

Fighting for Marriage Fidelity at Save Your Marriage Central

Prescott, WI (PRWEB) July 8, 2004

Marriages all over the world are being devastated by the latest Julia Roberts story celebrating her pregnancy with the husband she “bought” from his former wife in a nasty divorce battle. SYMC director and marriage coach Penny Tupy deals with the impact on a daily basis. She’s not shy about pointing a finger at the entertainment industry as being guilty of glorifying infidelity. “When marital infidelity among celebrities is portrayed as a love story, it demonstrates total disdain for the sanctity of marriage. We forget that real people, including innocent children, suffer very real and lasting hurt from these affairs,” says Tupy from her home in Prescott, Wisconsin. Tupy brainstormed a solution to counteract the negative impact, a national day to honor faithfulness to marital vows.

Marriage Fidelity Day is a celebration reminding us that marriage is a lifelong commitment to remain faithful in mind, body, and spirit to the covenant of marriage. Tupy and a group of volunteers are working to establish September 15th as the day set aside to honor this commitment and to highlight the destructiveness of infidelity. The initiative is well under way. More than half of the governors in U.S have been contacted already with favorable response. The ground-breaking initiative will move into in high gear over the next two months.

Governors receive a copy of the proclamation and a brief letter describing the initiative. The National Director for the initiative, Cindy Wolfe, will personally follow up with each of the governors’ offices to answer any questions and establish a working relationship with them.

SYMC chapters around the country will sponsor the Marriage Fidelity Day Proclamation within their home states. SYMC Chapters are extension of the SYMC marriage advocacy project and coordinate events throughout the year in support of marriage and family.

SYMC is also seeking grassroots endorsement and support for the Marriage Fidelity Day drive from several groups around the country. “Changing the perception of infidelity is not something we can do alone,” says Wolfe, “We are reaching out and joining forces with the many other organizations that care deeply about marriage, family and children.” Tupy plans to expand these contacts when she attends and presents at the Smart Marriages Conference in Dallas later this week.

Tupy’s dream and passion is to debunk the myth that an affair is a love story and to reestablish a commitment to marriage and family. Marriage Fidelity Day is a landmark event in this crusade.

Is Jealousy Threatening To Destroy Your Marriage?

Jealousy stems its head from insecurity and it threatens everything that it touches. It has destroyed a lot of marriages and there is no doubt that it will destroy many more to come. A jealous spouse can make life a living hell, not just for his partner, but for family and friends.

Truth be told, jealousy is in all of us, there isn’t a person in the whole world who is not jealous. However, most of us are able to control our jealous urges and we manage to keep it in check. People who get jealous rages usually have unresolved feelings of inadequacy and insecurity. A person who is jealous has the notion that if their spouse pays attention to someone or something else, it means that their spouse does not care about them.

That is just not true. Jealous people are mostly also controlling and selfish, and everything tends to serve only them. Someone who is jealous in a marriage or in a relationship tends to view being apart as an opening for their spouse to either cheat on them or do something that takes their spouse’s attention from them, and so as a result they tend to control the whereabouts of their spouse as much as they can. Jealousy is also parallel with someone who is possessive of their spouse.

Jealous people tend to want to control their spouse’s every move, sometimes they might even threaten them. Is your spouse jealous and possessive of you, to the point where you can’t take it? Do they ask you questions about where you were and with whom? Do they demand to go through your phone and stuff? Do they text you or call you by the hour? If your spouse does that, then they are showing signs of jealousy. Why do you think that they behave the way they do? Have you ever given them a reason not to trust you?

The only thing you can do with a spouse like that is to show them that you love them, and make sure that you earn their trust. Treat your partner the way you would want them to treat you and voice your concerns about their behavior to them. If they still do not change their behavior, it might be time to seek help.

If your spouse’s behavior is putting strain on your marriage, it might be time to get your friends that you trust and that care about you to intervene, but even that may not be enough. Do not be ashamed to get professional help and do not wait until the situation escalates to a point where your spouse does something drastic.

A New Decision Model for Success in Love and Marriage

A New Decision Model for Success in Love and Marriage

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 30, 2004 – A new decision-

making model to create success in love and marriage has been developed, and it is aimed at ending the current painful trends of one out of every two marriages failing within their initial years of marriage. It was tailored as a lasting solution and self-help tool to empower the singles who want to create a great marriage as their destiny. It is user-friendly and enables anyone to visualize into their marital future, to make conscious decisions that lead to true success in love and marriage. All this wisdom is condensed in a 224 page self-help book titled, “10 Steps to Success in Love and Marriage; Self-Help Secrets for the Smart Lover” (ISBN 0-9742164-0-2). Pre-publication copies of this book are now available online at: http://www.smartspouses.com

This tool was developed from a study that interviewed 1,064 experienced adults, both successful and unsuccessfully married. The study results revealed invaluable data with amazing patterns that highlighted the existence of a clear path to a successful marriage. The data and patterns of this study proved that marriage is predictable, and anyone could learn to foresee the future of their marriage at the dating stage. It was a combination of this established knowledge and need for a lasting solution, that lead to the development of two very important tools for marriage success – “the Smart Exit Strategy Flow Chart” on page 144, tailored to manage the marital risks and uncertainties in the pre-wedlock stage; and the “10 Step Smart Lover’s Model to Success”, to prompt you into making smart decisions for every stage of the pre-marriage process. These were very powerful tools because they would enable you to foresee and prevent a mismatch before wedlock, protect your future, and ultimately enable you influence and create years of enjoyment in your marital life. Furthermore, this book empowers you with the 15 success mindsets to enable you to become a better spouse, in order to guarantee a great marriage, full of happiness and inner peace.

This systematic decision making model will guarantee greater success in marriage, than relying on 50/50 guesswork with a plan to divorce if your choice of spouse is wrong! It empowers you with the visioning skills to predict and create the love success you desire, and also helps you to avoid repeating the common marital mistakes. The benefits are invaluable, as you will prove after reading this great book (that even allows you a 30-day-money-back-guarantee). The publication date for the 10 Steps to Success in Love and Marriage is March, 15th 2004. It is to be launched in Chicago, and thereafter a nationwide author tour is scheduled to follow.
