Popular New Book “The Spiritual Fragrance of Woman” Finds Success
Fairfield, CA (PRWEB) April 10, 2007
Since its release in late January, “The Spiritual Fragrance of a Woman –- the Fragrance that Attracts the Right Man,” has sold out at every speaking engagement that author and pastor Jerone Davison — a former Oakland Raider — has preached.
This includes the book-release service, held in Vallejo, Calif., in early February 2007. At its release, the publication sold more than 2,000 copies in two nights, and has been going strong ever since. According to Pastor Jerone, the work’s popularity is being compared to the success of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ book, “Woman Thou Art Loosed.”
When asked what prompted him to write the book, Pastor Jerone had much to say.
“I am simply a leader who loves the people in the church that I serve, and pray that their hearts’ desires will be met,” he said. “Like many pastors, I have a passion in my heart about the futures of the members of my church. Especially single women who are trusting God for husbands — and I pray to see them as happily married as I am.”
Pastor Jerone said single women can face many challenges when it comes to finding a partner.
“The question that we should ask is why aren’t our daughters getting married? Why aren’t the men — who attend church and get saved — choosing to marry the single, saved women in the church? Are the women doing something wrong? I don’t think so,” he said. “Are all of our men going gay, DL, ‘Thug Life’ or ‘Crazy Coo Co Style?’ I pray not. This book gives solid biblical answers to those questions.”
The book’s popularity is fueled by its new relationship concept, and its real, down-to-earth topics. It also contains ‘Fragrance Tests’ where women can rate their spiritual fragrance, a complete index and ‘Fatherly Advice.’
Testimonies of how the book is encouraging the faith of many single woman, men — and even married couples — are numerous, said Pastor Jerone. These readers are strengthening their spiritual fragrance, thanks to tips from the book. Here’s a quote from a reader named Kris.
“I have read a million self-help books. Some help; others were just a repeat of what I already knew. However, your book cut to the core! Everything you stated hit home,” Kris said. “I have been kept by God for years now, and still no prospect. I am in my 40s, fine, enjoy working out and raising a young man alone. I have cried many-a-night, Lord please help.”
Davison said that one of the reasons why he feels men don’t marry is because most have grown up in single-parent, illegitimate homes or bad-marriage homes.
“Most have never seen a good marriage first hand — leaving no desire for marriage. Marriage for most of today’s men is nowhere on the list of life’s priorities,” he said.
“This is a major issue and is growing uglier by the generation — which is why the women in our churches must be more demanding of a marital commitment from their boyfriends before sex,” Davison said. “Challenge them to be responsible men by making them wait and make a decision. Premarital sex changes everything — it changes his feelings about the woman, which is why most of the time it’s a hit-and-quit situation.”
Secondly, most of today’s men don’t understand the spiritual or natural significance of marriage and the impact it has on our children thinking that marriage is only a piece of paper, he said.
“This is where the church comes in. We’ve got to preach about marriage. After all, car registration is paper, a driver’s license is paper covered by plastic, a receipt is paper, etc,” Pastor Jerone said. “Without most of these, you would be considered illegitimate — just as illegitimate as shacking up and pretending to be married.”
Lastly, there is the ‘Fear Factor,’ said Pastor Jerone.
“Men have a fear of losing sexual excitement, thinking the more the merrier; they fear that one woman can’t satisfy,” he said. “Marriage is a true gift from God, and it’s a shame to see it go to waste.”
