“Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak. They should be submissive, just as the law says.” If you are going to be literal, be literal with EVERY verse, not only the ones that suit your particular fetish.

Also I will never tell you God hates gay people, because He doesn’t. Here are the verses from Romans. (God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.”) Rom 1:26-27.

I thought I would chime in just from a logical standpoint. The bible says that sex outside of marriage is sin, and God made no provision for men to marry men and women to marry women. He gave us no ability to procreate with the same sex. If you believe God is Soveriegn, then if He wanted us to have sex with someone of the same gender, He would have made it so we could have children, continue on the legacy. If you separate the sexes forever, they will die off. We need each other.

I think he did it for votes too which makes me sad. Politics in general just makes me sad…maybe one day we will have someone who does not sway to get votes but will do what is right because it’s the right thing to do.

I think Jillian is awesome. I love these segments, but wish you would stick to health topics. Jillian is a fitness guru. The name of the program is everyday health, so talking about health and fitness would be great. Any time you bring up politcs, social issues, and religion you lead to controversy. I agree with Janice that it seems strange Obama pops up with this pre-election. When he campaigned years ago he was seeking the church goers vote. I think he’s seeking votes.

Pre-marital sex is yes, also a sin, also called fornication. Homosexuality is a sin. It’s not about love here. It’s about the Truth written in the Bible. There are many sins, yes all leading to death, to hell. Don’t confuse love and sin. Love the person, but hate the sin.

That is like saying you can’t have premarital sex and be a Christian. Or any other “sin”. We are all sinners and fall short. Every single day we open our eyes, no matter how hard we try to do right and not sin. The only thing we can do as Christians is do as the bible says and LOVE they neighbor as thy self and Judge not lest ye be judged. 🙂 The greatest commandment according to the bible is LOVE.

I’m fine with gay marriage. Each person should have a right to make that choice for his or her self. The Goverment shouldn’t have a say one way or the other. I think Obama came out and said it for political reason’s. As in he thinks it will help him win the campaign. I don’t plan to vote for him. I hope in due time it will just be marriage. Not marriage and “gay” marriage. Just plain marriage.

The majority should not have the right to rule the minority. So right on Jillian! I am a Christian & I am gay. God destroyed Sodom & Gomorra for lack of hospitality not homosexuality. This is America & 2012. Let’s all get some hospitality for our neighbor whatever their religion, race, sexual orientation, etc. Like Jillian said, you don’t have to like everything everyone does. But please, let’s learn to get along & respect one another.

I hate it when people who are in a particular profession bring their opinions on non-related subjects into the mix. It’s not on topic, and it alienates many people from you that you could otherwise help.

Im not that kind of Christian like take all and everything seriously. I’m 16, i have sex, i party hard, I swear alot, Im up al night and alt that shit, but.. I pray “Good Night prayers” every night, and I’ve done that since I said my first word and even earlier. I go to church now and then. But I’m not so sure about heaven. I don’t think we go to heaven. I think we go to a world were un natural things exists like magic and stuff. You have no right to judge me for who I Love!

Like i said, you can’t be gay and call yourself a Christian. There is no such thing. People invent things as they go along when the Word of God clearly states that homosex. is a sin. Those who continue to live the lie that one day they will go to heaven as homosex. Wake up! ’cause you are grossly distorting God’s Word.

it doesn’t matter what other people say. It matters what the Bible says. God destroyed Sodoma and Gomora also because the sexual perversion of homosexuality was taking place amongst other sins’ as well of course. There was most likely also pagan gods worshiped as well.

The idea some people have is that Sodom& Gomora were destroyed because of the worship of other gods that was happening there. (meaning homosexual practices were occurring in order to worship those gods). So Paul’s point was that God was against worship of other gods, not against homosexuality.
Again, I’m still thinking about this; I’m open to ideas. I don’t want to say/do anything harmful before I truly know where I stand.
mismestera says:

Of course the Bible is very much so against homosexuality. I haven’t read anything out of context. Yes I know know their were many pagan rituals of all sorts I read and I’ve read the Bible many times from cover to cover, book by book and homosexuality was and is still a sin. Why do you think God destroyed Sodom and Gomora? One of the reasons was because of homosexuality that was practiced in those cities. And of course there are other places as well which pt. to it as being a sin.

I agree, the Bible is the answer. I’m debating whether the Bible is actually against homosexuality. You have to look at the situational, historical context of each book; not read it out of context. Some say Paul is warning people- not of homosexuality, but of cult worship that use man-man intercourse (this was a way of worshipping other gods). I’m still debating this.
Regardless– even if I did disagree with homosexuality, denying gays gay marriage would not make them realize that it’s wrong.
mismestera says:
October 29, 2012 at 3:00 am (UTC 0)
No, actually I’m even questioning the fact that you are a Christian with such distorted beliefs. God is our judge. The only views Christians should have on homosexual issues is what the Bible teaches. Period. Homosexuality is an abomination to God. Those who live the homosexual lifestyle and those who agree that’s it ok and that so-called gay marriage is ok are hell bound if they don’t repent of this sin. There’s too much pluralism is America. Only the Bible has the answer here.

So you think you can tell me what my relationship with God is?
Please realize that Christians have different views about these kinds of issues. Just because your view differs from others does not make them weak Christians.
mismestera says:

you cannot be a Christian and be gay. God hates homosexuality. There is no such thing. Don’t twist God’s word to make it the way you want it to be.
mismestera says:

You are not a strong Christian. You just consider yourself one. A strong Christian would not allow gay marriage. Of course it’s not going to stop them from being gay. That’s a given and an absurdity to even pose that statement. The only thing that’s going to stop them from being gay is their realization that they are sinning against God for their unrepentant homosexual lifestyle. Also I wouldn’t want my tax money going to uphold their homosex. lifestyle. Think twice.
